Bike racks have become a great feature for those with an active lifestyle. Riding down bike trails for fun and intense mountain biking can be so much easier when there is a better method for transport. Now individuals that install bike racks can travel to farther, but better quality terrain for a better experience. That comes with less effort by the bikers. You don’t want to have to waste all your energy carrying the bikes to the destination. Here are some of the best models in 2015 – 2016:
Allen Sports Deluxe 4-Bike Hitch Mount Rack with 2-Inch Receiver:
This convenient mount can fit on any vehicle that has a two inch mount. It is very well designed. I have seen your average small five passenger cars with this attachment. The rack is easy to install in just minutes and can be folded up when done to avoid being in the way. I watched the video myself with little equipment building experience and still had success. This is a strong bike that can work, but has two slight problems. The cradles that the bikes sit on are small and not adjustable which is bad for large bikes. Also the hole on the bottom of the rack is a bit small compared to standard hitches. You will most likely have to drill a bigger hole.
Pro-Series 63124 Eclipse Black 2-Inch Sq. 4 Bike Carrier:
This multiple bike carrier is great for families going on trips. The design on this product is great. It folds up for better storage and includes reflectors for safety. The tilt feature makes it easier to open and access the trunk without having to shift the bikes around so much. The loop straps allow for the easy removal and loading of the bikes. The problem is that this is only compatible with certain bikes. Some bikes will not fit if they are too tall or too wide. I have friends that have bought this and it didn’t fit. Understand your bike measurements before purchasing.
Swagman XC Cross-Country 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack:
This mount holds up two bikes. It is great for couples that enjoy and active biking lifestyle or friends that are going on a biking trip or race. Me and my husband travel with them all the time to the mountains. It is light and easy to carry or move around. The problem that I have noticed is that this product can’t be used for RV’s even though it doesn’t say that in the initial description or directions.
Saris Bones 2-Bike Trunk Rack:
This rack has got to have the strongest arms and legs on the market. Any average car (such as a Honda can hold this). The rack is only ten pounds itself and can hold 30+ pound bikes no problem. It is also easy to carry and move around. The only problem is that the design calls for limited movement by the front wheel. This model is good for the environment because it is made out of all recycled materials. The strength is occasionally both a curse and a blessing. While it is firm, it is hard to move and adjust.
Hollywood Racks HR1400 Sport Rider SE 4-Bike Platform Style Hitch Mount Rack:
This pre-assembled item is great for family riders always on the go. It is very easy to set up. The hitch is stable enough to not shake while traveling. I new a friend that his started to rust not too long after purchase. However there is a pretty good warranty on this item.
Overall the great price tag, sturdy design, and easy assembly time make this item a great purchase for all ages and active bike life styles. All types of vehicles can carry these racks with ease. The little effort needed to move the racks around allows for more exercising time. Traveling with bikes has never been easier. Get yours today online via Amazon.
